On Saturday, June 4th, 2011, villagers of Beit Ummar gathered with international and Israeli solidarity activists to commemorate the 1967 Naqsa, when Israel occupied the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The group made it no more than 100 meters before soldiers stopped the group. To avoid a violent confrontation, the organizers had the demonstrators sit down and some made speeches before turning to return back to the village.
