The small village of Tawani in the south Hebron hills has long been harassed by settlers from nearby Ma'on settlement and the outpost hidden in a forest near the village. In spring of 2005, settlers repeatedly sprinkled barley seeds boiled in rat poison on the villagers' land to kill sheep and ultimately discourage shepherds from grazing there. A large group of Israeli and International activists came to help the village pick poison out of the grass as best we could.
